Each year the Virginia Synod sponsors two events for High School students (9th through 12th Grade) called Winter Celebration. Winter Celebration is a gathering of several hundred youth and adults for large group and small group experiences with lots of worship, singing and faith sharing. If you are interested in attending, Lorin Crowder will be taking a group from St. Michael to the second weekend, January 29-31, 2010. Scholarship money is available to help with the cost of the weekend and you can download the registration form here. For more information, please talk to Pastor John.
Here is the 2010 Spending Plan for Ministry. The Spending Plan was approved at the congregational meeting on Sunday, December 13 at 10 AM.
In February of 2009, the Congregation adopted several updates to the constitution to bring it in line with revision made by the ELCA since 1991. In November of 2009, the Council updated several continuing resolutions to match our current ministry activities. You can download St. Michael’s Constitution by clicking on the link below.

The ELCA Churchwide Assembly took place from August 17 to August 23 and considered a number of issues ranging from Malaria to Full Communion with the United Methodist Church, but the agenda items which received the most attention dealt with issues of human sexuality. Bishop Mauney and Bishop Hanson reflected on the decisions of the Assembly.
