Family History

We have recently added a document to the “History” page of the website which contains information on the Lutheran churches that occupied the site of St. Michael in the late 1700s and early 1800s. The document is searchable and contains baptismal records and other information of interest. You can access the document on the History page

Lutheran Family Services of Virginia

Workplace giving benefits Lutheran social ministry. Three familiar workplace giving campaigns that raise millions of dollars for charity each year are kicking off this fall. The Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign (CVC) runs through Nov. 30, the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) runs through Dec. 15, and most United Way workplace campaigns are being conducted between September and November. We hope that you will help get the word out that Lutheran Family Services of Virginia can be designated for contributions in all three campaigns.

  • United Way: To designate a contribution to LFSVA, simply write in our name on the line provided.
  • Combined Virginia Campaign: For state employees who wish to make a contribution to LFS, use CVC #3706.
  • Combined Federal Campaign: For federal employees who wish to make a contribution to LFS, use CFC #75391.

Thank you on behalf of the many children, families and individuals who will benefit from your caring concern and support of our ministry.
– Blessings, Julie Swanson, Chief Executive Officer, Lutheran Family Services of Virginia
